Terms of service

What are the key terms of a Budgeter.ai subscription?

Budgeter.ai is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel renewal in the billing portal. Upgrades are charged right away as a prorated difference. Forecasts, scenarios and AI CFO answers are estimates based on your data and assumptions, not financial, investment, tax or accounting advice.

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the budgeter.ai service, provided by the administrator of the budgeter.ai service. By creating an account or buying a plan you accept them on behalf of yourself and the company you represent, and you confirm you have authority to do so. Questions go to [email protected].

2. The service

Budgeter.ai is budgeting and forecasting software for companies. It connects read-only to accounting, banking, payroll, CRM and spreadsheet sources you choose and provides budgets, cash flow forecasts, runway, scenarios, variance analysis, reporting and an AI CFO chat, in the scope of your plan described on the pricing page.

The runway calculator on the website is free to use without an account. After signing up, each account can download one watermarked PDF snapshot of its demo forecast. Everything else requires a paid plan. There is no free plan.

3. Estimates, not advice

Forecasts, scenarios, budgets, recommendations and AI CFO answers are estimates calculated from your data and your assumptions. They are not financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, and they are not a guarantee of future results. You remain responsible for your decisions and for checking important figures with your accountant or advisors. Budgeter.ai does not replace your accounting records or the work of your accountant.

4. Your account

  • Keep your login details safe and tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You are responsible for the people you invite to your workspace and the access you give them.
  • Connect only systems and data you are entitled to use.
  • Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break security, overload it, resell access or extract the product.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Plans are subscriptions billed in US dollars, in advance, by card through a secure checkout. Each company has one subscription.

  • Monthly plans are billed every month from the purchase date.
  • Yearly plans are billed once a year in advance and cost 50 percent of twelve monthly payments.
  • Auto-renewal. Every subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then current price until renewal is cancelled. If the price of your plan changes, we tell you by email at least 30 days before the renewal it affects.
  • Usage limits, such as AI CFO questions and saved scenarios, are counted per billing period as usage. Deleting a chat or a scenario does not restore quota. Unused quota does not carry over.
  • Taxes are added where the law requires them.

6. Upgrades, downgrades and proration

When you move to a higher plan, or from monthly to yearly billing, we charge the prorated difference for the rest of the current billing period immediately. The higher plan starts as soon as that payment succeeds. If the payment fails, your current plan stays unchanged.

When you move to a lower plan, the change takes effect from the next billing period, and no refund is paid to your card for the current period.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel renewal at any time in the billing portal inside the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then it ends and is not charged again. Payments for periods that have started are not refundable, except where mandatory law gives you a right to a refund.

If a renewal payment fails, we retry it and email you. If it still fails, access to paid features is paused until the payment is made.

8. Your data

Your company owns its data. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy, and protect it as described on the security page. You can export your data and delete your workspace at any time.

9. Availability

We work to keep Budgeter.ai available at all times, but on plans other than Enterprise we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Enterprise includes a 99.9 percent monthly uptime commitment. Connected third-party services may change or interrupt their access, which can delay syncs.

10. Intellectual property

The software, design and content of Budgeter.ai belong to the administrator of the budgeter.ai service. Your subscription gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your company during the paid period. Your reports and exports are yours to use as you wish.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or decisions made on the basis of forecasts and answers from the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms, for example by attacking the service or using it unlawfully, after notice where the situation allows it. You can stop using the service and delete your workspace at any time.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. Material changes are announced by email at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel renewal before the change takes effect.
